Packing

Practice at home!


Our main Goals and priorities in the following order:

  1. Always OPENS Follow all the necessary packing steps to prevent malfunction (What you learned in the basic course)

  2. GOOD Openings Follow all the tips to have a better (smoother and on heading openings)

  3. Equipment Maintains Pack with caution to take care of your gear - less tear and wear (from many packings repetitions

  4. Speed After you consistent with all of the above you can start to work on your packing speed🙂



Summery Steps

  1. Stow your breaks

  2. Step through check - don't forget to check under the slider as well!

  3. Count nose cells

  4. Flaking the canopy - separate fabric form the line groups

  5. Clean stabilizers and check symmetry

  6. Slider fall into quarters and after tucked all the way in

  7. Find the center cell ( usually with a warning label centered or on side) bring the top skin around gently.

  8. Small 2 or 3 rolls on top and button and put it on the ground

  9. pilot chute - cock the kill-line!

  10. S-fold and put in the d-bag - don't release the pressor when taking the air out

  11. Double stow on all the rubber band is recommended.

  12. Leave about 24'' slack (better to leave more than less)

  13. Handle your main raisers

  14. Close the rig - with manufactory recommended order depending on container type

  15. Don't forget to gently pull the pullup with minimum damage on the closing loop

  16. Handle your pilot chute- always good too double check it's cocked



Key Points and Tips:

  • Always keep tension on the strops- apply presser away from the rig

  • Keep everything symmetrical

  • Clean steering line twists

  • Keep the slider down - it's a good packing aid

  • Be aware of Closing loop presser and wear
